Kim Zmeskal's Premiere Gymnastics Competition
January 17-19, 2025
What is the Legendz Classic?
Along with the opportunity to represent the USA in World and Olympic competitions, Kim Zmeskal is grateful she was able to showcase her love of gymnastics through events such as the Tour of Champions, the Gold Tour, Rock N’ Roll Gymnastics Championships, Battle of the Sexes, USA vs The World, and the Reese’s Cup Championships- all of which emphasized showmanship and team comradery while getting to know some of the world’s greatest athletes personally. So, it became a must when creating Kim Zmeskal’s Texas Prime Meet to incorporate an event that would give the competitors a chance to enjoy the spotlight while cheering on new teammates from various gyms.
During Saturday’s Legendz Classic, three teams, each captained by a legendary captain, will go head-to-head with the goal of entertaining the crowd and becoming the 2025 Legendz Classic team champions. Each of our 2025 Legendz has represented Team USA with class, power, and elegance.
Emceeing the 2025 event will be best friends and Olympic teammates Kim Zmeskal and Betty Okino, who always have a great time together, especially while sharing their love for our sport! The energy is sure to be sky-high with live, deejayed music by Jacob Benson, “Stick Bonuses” awarded by our judges, an autograph/ photo session, and even a dance-along for all!
2025 LEGENDZ… TBA Soon! Stay Tuned!
Who qualifies to Legendz Classic?
On Friday, January 17th, 2025, all of the Level 9 & 10/Open sessions will take place. From each of the four Level 10/Open sessions, the gymnasts placing in the top 3 on bars, the top 3 on beam, and the top 3 on floor will qualify to perform on that one event. Coaches will submit event preferences for their gymnasts in the case a gymnast qualifies on more than one apparatus. In addition to these 36 Level 10/0pen gymnasts, the top-scoring All Arounder in each of the three Level 9 sessions will qualify to perform on all three events (bars, beam & floor). The 2nd highest-scoring All Around Level 9 in each session will be team alternates and be included in the Q&A portion of Legendz Classic. (Ties will be broken utilizing USAG rules.)
"Prime Meet", it's a pun
In Texas, meat is quality graded with PRIME being the stamp given to only the most excellent cuts. These "meats" are graded so you'll know what type of experience you're getting. If they were, the quality of the venue, the competition, the food, the overall flavor and experience of our meet would certainly get the highest marks. Come try our meet and find out why we are so proud, we include it in the name.
The Experience
Dallas is home to major sports teams, incredible restaurants, waterparks, Six Flags, zoos, and entertainment that will make your trip worthwhile. The hotels and venue are 5-minutes from DFW airport, in Las Colinas, so there will be no rush or commute and lots more time for the kids to have fun, take in the sights, and the parents to enjoy a Tex-Mex margarita.
Kim Zmeskal America's first all-around World Champion, Olympic medalist, and International Hall of Fame member
“Competing in the highest levels of competition in our sport, I wanted to take my best experiences at an event and roll them into an experience that all levels of athlete can enjoy and will remember as fondly.
— Kim Zmeskal
There are nice venues, fun venues, and wow venues. Then there's the Irving Convention Center. This brand-new, masterpiece is stunning and serves perfectly to cater to our competition's needs. With on-site parking, great concessions (and amazing catering for the coaches), as well as bleacher seating, and lots of restrooms, there isn't a more prime venue around. (Have we gone too far with the "Prime" thing yet?)
